The Olympic games of Forgiveness.

Many people have become pretty good at talking about beautiful spiritual concepts by now. But actually applying them the moment the evening news starts? That’s a whole different story!

But maybe that is exactly where the real practice begins.

It isn’t about desperately trying to stay completely “spiritual” all day long. It is simply about catching that one moment when your peace suddenly slips away.

You read a headline or see a politician on TV or Social Media and immediately you feel it:

“Jesus, how on earth can these people…!”

And right there, just before you complete the whole mental process of pointing fingers, assigning guilt, and explaining exactly what is wrong with everyone, you pause for a split second:

“Ah, right. I just handed my peace away again.”

And here comes the relief.

You don’t have to correct yourself perfectly. You don’t have to force yourself to suddenly feel deep, unconditional love for that politician. And you certainly don’t have to lecture yourself that you should be better at this by now.

You only have to recognize what happened:

“This is disturbing my peace, and I am willing to look at it differently.”

And then one simple sentence may be enough:

“I don’t know how to look at this. Please look with me.”

That is really all little Gonny (say your own name if you wish) has to do.

Awakening asks for our willingness, not an Olympic gold medal in forgiveness. 😂

And if, exactly five minutes later, you catch yourself thinking:

“Yeah, but that guy is still a total…”

Perfectly fine.

Apparently, practice round number two has already begun. ❤️

With love and light,

G.
