Everyone has that one little habit people instantly recognize them by.

Some people begin every other sentence with, “To be honest…” even though no one suspected they were lying.

Others can never leave a room without turning back one more time. “I just need to…” No one, including them, really knows what.

Some start every story with, “I’ll make it quick…” and somehow twenty minutes disappear.

There are people who press the TV remote harder when the batteries are almost dead… as if determination might generate electricity.

And then there are the people who give advice to football players on television, completely convinced the players would do much better if they could only hear them.

We all have those wonderfully human little quirks.

The funny thing is, we notice everyone else’s almost instantly, while our own seem perfectly normal. And perhaps that’s where a tiny miracle is hiding.

So today, if you catch yourself doing one of those little things, don’t rush to fix it……Just smile 😁.

Maybe that’s how Jesus looks at us.

Not with a sigh that says, “There you go again…”

But with a smile that says, “You are still just as loved.”

Perhaps we simply take ourselves a little too seriously.

And perhaps peace begins the moment we can laugh gently at all the little things our ego insists are terribly important.

After all…

we’re all delightfully quirky.

And maybe that’s one of the nicest things about being human.

With love and light,

G
