….that moment when the world seems to slow down a little, tables are set, and somewhere between a simple egg and a cup of coffee or tea, a quiet question arises that has been waiting for centuries:

what are we really celebrating?

We have learned that Easter is about death and resurrection.

About loss, followed by hope.

But if we look at it with fresh eyes, not only shaped by tradition but also by a gentle inner listening, the story begins to breathe differently. Less heavy, less dramatic, and actually surprisingly light.

In the light of A Course in Miracles, Easter is not so much about something that happened once in history, but something that can unfold now…within us.

The crucifixion is no longer seen as a tragedy we must relive, but as a symbol. A picture of what the ego believes: that attack is real, that pain has meaning, that separation can win.

But the resurrection, that is the answer…

…as a quiet correction in the mind: this is not true !

As the Course puts it so simply, and yet so radically:

“The message of the crucifixion is perfectly clear: teach only love, for that is what you are.”

In other words…do not make pain your truth.

And right there, Easter begins to take on a completely different color.

Because how often, if we are honest, do we still crucify ourselves a little each day? A judgment here, a feeling of guilt there. A memory we keep replaying as if it defines us. Or another person we quietly, or sometimes quite firmly, fix into a role that keeps them small.

These are our little crucifixions.

And Easter invites something else. Not to deny these stories, but to reinterpret them. To see that they are not the truth, but a choice. And if it is a choice, then another choice is possible.

The resurrection then is not a physical event, but an inner shift. A moment where you pause, look, and realize: I no longer need to believe this.

Perhaps you recognize that moment. When you are caught in a thought that feels heavy and suddenly there is space. As if a window opens. Nothing dramatic, no angels singing…..just a soft release. Maybe even a small smile. Or simply the thought: it’s okay, I can let this go !

That is resurrection in its quiet form.

And maybe that is exactly how it is meant to be. Not grand and unreachable, but intimate and close. Like a spring morning where you notice the light has changed. The same world and yet somehow new.

The Course also says:

“The resurrection is the symbol of the fact that you can awaken.”

Not later. Not somewhere else. But here and now.

So as we celebrate Easter, with everything that comes with it : a table, a conversation, perhaps a laugh about something small.

You might ask yourself:

Where can I rise today from my own story?

Where can I choose light instead of being right?

Not as a task, but as an invitation.

And perhaps you will begin to notice that Easter is not something you celebrate, but something you are.

A quiet remembrance that nothing that is not love has any real power.

And that what you truly are has never been crucified……

only briefly forgotten.

Maybe that is the most beautiful thing we can share, at the table or in silence:

a little more space…

a little less judgment…

and a gentle smile that says: we are already home.

With love and light,

G.
