We live in a world where more and more people are endlessly searching for secret knowledge, hidden codes, higher frequencies, special DNA activations, cosmic downloads, and new techniques to achieve something they think they have lost.

And meanwhile, a blackbird sits on the edge of a roof, simply singing a song.

A cat stretches out in the warm sun.

A child stares into a rain puddle as if water has just been invented.

There is no method there. No ten-step course. No certificate. No activation.

Just presence.

I’m not saying that breathwork, meditation, or reading a spiritual course are useless. They can be incredibly helpful.

But perhaps they are at their best not when they give us something new, but when they take something away.

What I see is that what we usually call “spiritual growth” often looks like adding new concepts to our collection.

Perhaps true growth looks much more like cleaning house:

Fewer beliefs… less fear… fewer stories… less need to be right… less need to become somebody.

Can our intelligence and peace ever truly be absent? Aren’t they just like the sun behind the clouds, which doesn’t need to be turned on? The clouds simply need to drift by.

This brings to mind a question I ask myself every now and then: “What is truly missing in this exact moment, before my next thought appears?” Not theoretically. Just right here. Right now.

Often, a tiny moment of silence follows. And in that silence, there is sometimes more wisdom than in a thousand books.

(Even if I do still love those thousand books.)

With love and light,

G.
