(Based on Lesson 253 :My Self is ruler of the universe)
What if we look at life today as something not being done to us, but something coming from us…not from guilt or failure…but from a deeper place in the Mind where all choice begins ?
A Course in Miracles invites us to try this idea on… to live as if nothing comes into our experience without some part of us choosing it. Not consciously, perhaps, but from the level of the Mind that still believes in separation or longs for healing.
If that’s true… then what we see is not random. It’s not punishment. It’s a mirror. A way to see what we value, what we fear, what we hold onto and also, what we are ready to release.
So instead of saying: “Why did this happen to me?”,
we could ask: “What does this reflect back to me?”
Not as a judgment… but as a clue. A pathway inward.
In this world, we are not victims of fate. We are not at the mercy of planets, patterns or past lives. We are decision-makers. Quiet choosers of how we want to see. And through that seeing… we either bind ourselves or free ourselves.
When we accepted that power…not with pressure, but with curiosity, we are accepting our responsability.
What would it be like to wake up in the morning and remember…
I’m not just here to react.
I’m here to choose how I respond.
I’m here to forgive what I projected.
I’m here to remember the peace I truly want.
And yes, that can be hard sometimes. The ego will resist. It will say, “This is not your fault. Someone else did this.” But that voice is just scared of losing its throne!
See what happens when we say :
I accept that nothing can come to me without my invitation.
I accept to see that my deeper desires are shaping what I perceive.
I accept to remember that my true Self is not a victim of the world it sees… but a holy Son of God, here to learn to choose again !
“I’m determined to see.” “God is my strength, Vision is his Gift.”
This willingness is not a burden. It’s a key. It opens the way beyond this world… to the real creations of our Self. Not things we make, but love we extend.
And the more we trust that our true Will is not separate from God’s Will, the more peace enters. Because we’re no longer fighting with reality. We’re resting into it… guided by something greater… carried by the quiet certainty that Love rules all things, including us.
So today, instead of trying to control the outer world, we could turn inward and ask:
“What would happen if I took responsibility for what I see?”
“What might change if I remembered that I am not powerless?”
“What if I aligned my will with God’s… just for a moment?”
And maybe that moment is all it takes.
With love and light,
G.
