Ah, we all know this one. You think: “Yes, I can do this!” and then… poof. Nothing. Or it half works. Or you get frustrated. Let me approach this from the light of A Course in Miracles with a touch of love, gentleness, and maybe even a smile. (We all need this isn’t it?)

The real question is:

Who is it that thinks they can or must be able to do something?

The Course says that what you truly are cannot fail. Your true Self, your mind, lives in a state of perfect peace and strength. But the ego, that little voice saying: “I should be able to do this, or I’m not good enough”, loves the idea of failure. Why? Because failure “proves” you are weak, small, and separate from your Source. The ego wants to convince you that you must do it all alone, without Love, without God.

What you are doesn’t need to do anything. It only needs to be. And when you act from that Being, things flow. Or… they seemingly fail, but then it turns out to be exactly right. That very “failure” can open a door to something greater, more loving, more surprising.

Some gentle reminders:

-Perhaps the “not succeeding” is an invitation to ask the Holy Spirit for help. Not to get something done, but to have your thinking corrected.

-Perhaps it’s a chance to practice gentleness toward yourself.

-Perhaps the timing just isn’t right. Or maybe it’s simply not your path.

-And maybe… you can do it, but you don’t believe it yet.

ACIM says:

“In my own strength I can do nothing. But in His strength, all things are possible.” (Lesson 91)

So picture this: You’re standing there, something isn’t working. Instead of frustration, you quietly place it on the altar of your heart. “I thought I had to do this. Show me what’s true.” And then you breathe. And you smile. And you know: What I am can never fail.

With love and Light,

G.
