It sounds mysterious, almost futuristic. A word you might expect to hear in physics, mathematics, or scientific discussions. A point where everything collapses into one. A moment beyond division. A threshold where the old rules no longer apply.
But what if singularity is not something waiting for us in the future?
What if it is here, now?
A Course in Miracles rarely uses the word âsingularity.â Instead it speaks of OnenessâŚ..One SelfâŚ..One Son of GodâŚ.One Mind.
Oneness means something very simple : Nothing can leave it, because if something could truly leave the One, then it would no longer be âOneâ.
That is why the Course says the separation never truly happened. It only seemed to happen. It was an idea in the mind. A tiny fantasy of being separate, independent, on our own.
A thought.
And if separation never truly happened, then there is no real âIâ opposed to a âyou.â No truly separate âothers.â
Pause there for a moment.
If that is true, then everything changes.
Because if there are no real âothers,â then every conflict, every irritation, every judgment is not happening between two separate beings. It is happening within one Mind.
And that is where singularity becomes practical.
You are sitting at the table. Someone makes a comment. Irritation rises.
âShe always does this.â- âHe doesnât understand me..â-â That was unnecessary.â
In that moment you can ask one simple question: Who is this âotherâ?
The ego answers quickly, âThat person over there. Separate. Independent. Possibly guilty.â
But the teaching of Oneness answers differently: This is a fragment of my own mind onto which I have projected the idea of separation and guilt.
Projection makes perception. What I see âoutsideâ reflects what I still believe inside.
And this brings us to something even more tender: When you see anger, attack, coldness, manipulation, fearâŚ..ACIM calls it a âcall for loveâ…âa cry for helpâ.
But if there is only One Mind, then the âcallâ you see is not happening âover there.â
Is that call for love therefore not also my own call?
Yes.
Not because you caused someoneâs behavior as a body. Not because you are guilty. But because perception happens in your mind. The part of the mind that recognizes separation is the part that still believes in it.
If I react strongly to someoneâs harsh tone, something in me still believes harshness is real and threatening. That belief is my call for love. The other personâs harshness is also a call for love. But in singularity, these are not two separate cries.
They arise in the same Mind.
This is why forgiveness in ACIM is not about being nice or morally superior. It is about withdrawing projection.
Instead of saying : You are wrong and you hurt me,â the mind shifts to,
âI am seeing separation. Let me see this differently.â
The âotherâsâ call for love and my own call for love meet in the same place.
And something softensâŚ.Judgment loses its sharp edgeâŚBlame loses its targetâŚ..Fear loses its certainty.
-You are driving. Someone cuts you off. The ego says, âIdiot.â Singularity whispers, âThere is no separate mind attacking you.â
-You are in conversation. Someone misunderstands you. The ego says, âDefend.â Singularity says, âNothing real is threatened.â
-You are praised. The ego says, âYes, I am special.â Singularity smiles, âYou are blessed because you are as God created you, and so is everyone here.â
Singularity is not sameness of personality. It is sameness of Being.
The One Son of God appears as many bodies, many stories, many roles. Because, in truth, there is only one Awareness, looking through countless windows.
When you see a call for love, you are being shown where love is needed in the Mind. Not in âtheirâ mind versus âyours.â In the One Mind.
And that is beautiful, because it means you are never powerless.
You do not have to fix the world. / You do not have to fix people.
You answer the call by accepting love in yourself.
The moment you choose love instead of judgment, the call is answered everywhere. There is no distance love must travel.
So Singularity is not a dramatic future event. It is the quiet recognition that there has always been only ONE.
With love and light,
G.
