
Another experience of death is the loss of a loved one. Let’s be honest: it is not easy to lose someone. It feels like you have to let someone go on a one-way journey, as if a part of you is being torn away. The pain and loss can be overwhelming, and it is entirely understandable to go through a grieving process. But what if, instead of mourning, we cherished the joyful memories of the beautiful journey we shared together? What if we chose to feel gratitude for the moments we shared, instead of losing ourselves in the emptiness of what is no longer there?
The difference between loss and gratitude is immense. The ego clings to loss, to the feeling that something has been taken away from us. It feeds on guilt and regret, the idea that we have lost something valuable. But the Light, the true essence of who we are, invites us to look beyond this illusion of loss. It invites us to acknowledge that love cannot disappear. The physical form may no longer be with us, but the love, the joy, and the connection we shared with the other remain eternally present in our hearts.
There is no right or wrong way to grieve. But it is also important to realize that we have a choice in how we experience this loss. No one can decide how you cope with grief but yourself. The choice to hold on to sadness or to make room for gratitude and love is yours. We all have that responsibility, and it is a powerful insight to realize that, despite the suffering, we also have the possibility to find peace. The ego will always try to keep us trapped in pain by making us believe that mourning the loss is a form of loyalty to the one who has passed away. But the Light, our inner truth, invites us to see that we never truly lose anything. The connection remains, beyond time and space. If we can see the loss as a temporary veil covering the eternal love, we can begin to heal.
