Reincarnation. It’s a word that brings comfort to many, but have we ever stopped to ask ourselves if it truly matters? A Course in Miracles (ACIM) offers a unique perspective: reincarnation, in the ultimate sense, is impossible because time as we know it – past and future – doesn’t exist. The idea of being born into a body, once or many times, is simply a way we try to make sense of our lives in the illusion of time.

So, what does this mean for us? Our main question isn’t whether reincarnation is true but rather, “Is the concept helpful?” If believing in reincarnation helps us see life as eternal, then yes, it’s useful. But if it turns into pride about past lives or an excuse to delay growth, it can create unnecessary distractions. Instead of getting caught up in theories focus on the present, where true healing happens.

Think of it this way:  we’re already complete, even if our ego tries to convince us otherwise. When we think in terms of reincarnation, we might feel as if we’re constantly adding “new chapters” to our lives to fill in some missing pieces. But what if we already hold everything we need? What if reincarnation is like reading a story where we forget we’re the author? Remember that the story of who we are – in love, unity, and wholeness – is fully present, right here and now.

Does this mean we shouldn’t talk about reincarnation or hold beliefs about it? Not at all! Every belief, if used rightly, can help us on our path. What matters is that we don’t let it distract us from what’s truly important. The key idea: our salvation, or true peace, is available in this moment. Heaven is here, now. This is where freedom lies.

So, as we journey through life, let’s hold lightly to our beliefs about past lives and future ones, remembering that Heaven is now. If we stay present, each moment offers a chance for healing and connection. After all, “No teaching that does not lead to this is of concern to God’s teachers.”

Isn’t that a beautiful reminder? 💙
