Where an ancient hatred has become a present love.

Today marks the beginning of autumn. A time when leaves let go, the sun softens its light, and the air seems to whisper, “Come inward now.”

But not all falling leaves are peaceful. Sometimes they stir up something

old…a memory, a wound, a resistance. And yet, the Course tells us that right there, where once hatred ruled, love can take root. Not by force, not by effort, but by willingness.

The line above : “where an ancient hatred has become a present love”,

is not just poetic. It’s a portal. It suggests that every spot of pain can become a doorway to holiness, if we are willing to see it differently. If we let ourselves be surrounded…not by fear or judgment..but by Divine Love.

And that’s what today’s lesson 264 invites:

“Father, You stand before me and behind me, beside me, in the place I see myself, and everywhere I go….What surrounds Your Son and keeps him safe is Love itself.”

This isn’t just about comfort. It’s a retraining of perception. Imagine walking into a room where someone once hurt you. What if…instead of tightening…you paused and asked: “Can I see this space differently?” What if you whispered: “I am surrounded by the Love of God,” and allowed that awareness to soften your vision?

This is the undoing of the world, we don’t need grand revolutions, just

gentle shifts. The Course doesn’t ask us to change the world. It asks us to change how we see it.

So on this first day of autumn, let us lay down an old hatred, maybe

just one thought we’ve held too tightly and let the wind carry it

like a leaf. Not because we “should,” but because there is something better waiting. A Love that’s not of this world. A memory of Home.

And maybe as we do we realize:

The world is not outside of Love.

It is the stage where Love remembers Itself.

And we, the actors, have forgotten our lines…

But the script is still within us.

Let us remember today:

“I am surrounded by the Love of God.”………always!

And in that quiet knowing, we meet each other again, not as strangers,

but as the One Son, waking up in Love.

With love and light
