Helen Schucman, the scribe of A Course in Miracles, described what she heard as simply “the Voice.”

She never referred to it as a historical figure, but as an inner communication…calm, loving, clear.

This Voice didn’t command. It reminded. It guided gently, always pointing her back to a deeper truth beyond appearances.

Many students feel a strong connection to Jesus through the Course and that’s perfectly valid.

But the book never insists on belief in a person or a name.

Its true purpose is to help us reconnect with our own Internal Teacher, the Voice of Truth that lives in all of us.

So why does the Course use Christian terms like Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit?

Because it was written specifically for people with a Christian background,

people whose image of God had been shaped by guilt, punishment, and fear.

The Course doesn’t attack Christianity, it heals what the ego made of it.

It uses the same words the ego misused, but gives them back their original meaning:

Love, innocence, peace, joy, and complete union with God.

The Course makes two things clear:

“This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary.”

“This is one path, of many. It is not intended to be the only way.”

There are many roads that lead back to Truth.

This one speaks to those who were ready to hear it in Christian language.

Not to create a new religion, but to set the mind free from the old one.

If we cling once again to the form…to a figure, a label, or a name…we risk turning the correction into a new form of separation.

Truth belongs to no one. It simply is.

“A universal theology is impossible, but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary.”

It’s not about what you believe.

It’s about the fear that’s being undone.

It’s about remembering the Truth that was never lost, just temporarily covered by illusion.

One of the most iconic Christian prayers is the Lord’s Prayer.

For many, it became a prayer of pleading…as if God were distant and we were guilty.

But in the light of the Course, it becomes something very different:

a declaration of Presence, a remembrance of Truth.

With love and deep reverence, I’ve tried to echo the Lord’s Prayer in the light of ACIM. May any errors be gently undone:

Our Father, Who is in Heaven,

Your Name is the Light within us all.

Your Kingdom is here, now, as we choose Love over fear.

Your Will is our true will,

and it is already done in Heaven and on earth.

Give us today the awareness of our true Self.

Forgive our illusions, as we release the illusions we placed upon our brothers.

Lead us not into the temptation of the ego’s voice,

but remind us always of the Voice of Truth.

For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory,

forever in the one Mind we share.

Amen.

This is not a prayer of guilt.

It’s not a cry to someone far away.

It’s a quiet affirmation of what is eternally true:

God is here. Love is what we are. Peace is already given.

With love and light,

G.
