A little mouse walks carefully toward a pond.
Inside, he often feels much larger than his tiny paws, soft whiskers, and long pink tail suggest.
Something within him does not match what he sees on the outside.
He sighs… a sigh no one hears. For who listens to a mouse?
No one notices his small squeaks, no one takes him seriously.
His questions, his stories, his fears, his dreams,
they vanish like rustling leaves hidden in tall grass.
And then he looks into the water.
And sees…
A lion.
A mighty, calm, confident lion stares back. Not as a threat, but as a truth.
A lion who doesn’t need to roar to be heard or have to prove he belongs.
A lion who simply is.
And suddenly, the mouse remembers.
In the light of A Course in Miracles, this is exactly what we’re all going through. We look at ourselves and see small, fragile, afraid, unnoticed or not heard. We see a mouse. But underneath that surface is something we’d rather not face, something too vast, too powerful: our true Identity as the Son of God, the extension of Love itself.
Not born to survive, but to Be.
“I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.”
Or, : “I thought I was a mouse. Until I looked in the pond.”
So what would the mouse do if he truly understood who he is?
Would he still hide in corners, afraid of shadows, making excuses why he can’t shine today?
Would he still believe his voice doesn’t matter?
That his tiny squeaks have no impact?
Or would he realize that every whisper of Love shakes the universe awake?
What if the Lion had always heard him?
Maybe today, you too feel a bit like a mouse.
A tiny mouse with a heavy to-do list, a busy mind, and a tired heart.
And the feeling that no one really hears what you’re saying.
Then this image is your reminder: There is more to you than you think.
You only have to look within. Or into a pond. Or into the eyes of your brother.
Everywhere you look, you meet yourself.
And sometimes…if you dare to really look…you see a lion.
So truly look to yourself… see the strength you’ve always been.
For the power of God lives in you.”
And yes, your voice is heard. Always has been. By the Lion in you.
And He doesn’t roar with judgment. He roars with remembrance.
With love and light,
G.
