Imagine you are walking through a fog. Everything seems vague, shapes appear and disappear, and sounds echo in strange ways.
That fog is perception…the Mind’s dream. And somewhere in that fog, a soft voice begins to whisper: “You’re dreaming, but you can wake up now.”
That voice is what the Course calls the Holy Spirit ….or, if you prefer, the Inner Teacher, the Voice for Love, the Bridge between illusion and Truth.
You don’t need to believe in Him as a character in the sky. Think of Him as a translator…one who takes your fearful thoughts and translates them into a language of peace.
He doesn’t erase your experiences; He reinterprets them.
When you say, “I’m hurt because of what they said,” He gently corrects:
“No, dear one, you are hurt because of what you think it means.”
Because nothing outside of you has power over your peace …only your interpretation gives it that power. In other words: your thought about their words does.
It sounds almost too simple, doesn’t it? But simplicity is divine intelligence.
Our thoughts create our emotional weather. The Holy Spirit is the quiet sunshine that reminds us: “You are the sky, not the storm.”
Try this: next time something hurts…physically or emotionally…pause and say,
“Nothing can hurt me but my thoughts.”
Don’t try to believe it; just practice it.
You may feel a tiny shift, a breath of space, a sense that there’s a gap between “you” and the thought.
That gap is the doorway where the Holy Spirit enters…quietly, without fanfare, and turns the pain into light.
In this dream of separation, we’ve used perception to prove that we are small, fragile, and alone.
But the Spirit uses that same perception to undo the proof.
He doesn’t destroy the dream; He re-purposes it.
Every irritation, every sickness, every disappointment becomes material for a
miracle.
At first, this may sound like faith….fragile and uncertain.
But faith, practiced with consistency, becomes knowing.
You start noticing small miracles: tension melts faster, fear fades sooner, forgiveness feels natural.
You begin to trust that this invisible Companion truly works, not because you forced belief, but because you experienced peace.
In time, you’ll smile when challenges appear.
You’ll think, “Ah, another opportunity to let the Voice for Peace translate this for me.”
That’s when faith turns into recognition…the sweet remembering that you were never alone, not even for a second.
Before you go about your day, take a deep breath and whisper:
“Guide of Light, Inner Teacher, Bridge of Love…
translate every fearful thought I have today into peace.
I will not hurt myself again with illusions.”
Then go live as if that’s already true.
Watch how often the fog clears…not because the world changed,
but because you remembered Who walks with you.
With love and light,
G.
