Seeing with the Light on (L.285)

You probably know this story…

A man enters a dark room, he notices something curled up in the corner and immediately thinks: a snake 🪱… I am in danger!

His heart jumps, he freezes, his breath stops, and fear takes over.

But then… someone turns on the light.

He blinks, looks again, and realizes… it was only a rope!

In that moment nothing outside changed, only his mind did.

Fear disappeared not because the rope transformed, but because with Light he finally saw it as it truly was.

That Light, that recognition of truth, is holiness revealing itself again.

That is forgiveness.

It is not about fixing or fighting what you see, but about seeing it with the light on…seeing it with your holiness.

We spend much of our life reacting to what the mind projects with the emotion of fear and wants us to believe… a form, a word, a silence, an action… giving them meaning they never truly had.

That’s why when we see a shape we call it danger, or rejection, or loss.

And then we suffer.

When we give value and reality to all kinds of forms, we automatically become victims of these forms and suffer from the effects they seem to have on us.

But the moment we turn on the light… the Light of awareness, which is the same Light as our holiness… we stop using the emotion of fear and we start using the emotion of Love… then everything changes.

Not because the world changes, but because we no longer mistake a rope for a snake.

The image stays, but its threat, the result of seeing it without holiness, dissolves.

Forgiveness is that turning of the switch.

It’s the gentle realization: “Ah… I made this wrong meaning myself.”

And when we see that, the whole scene becomes lighter.

Nothing real was ever hurt. Nothing true needs repair.

This gentle lightness is the natural expression of holiness.

It’s like watching a child walk through a hall of mirrors for the first time.

He gasps at the strange shapes… some tall, some twisted, some upside down… and he starts to cry, convinced they could hurt him.

But then a gentle voice says, “It’s all right, they’re only mirrors.”

He looks again, begins to laugh, and suddenly the monsters turn back into play.

He realizes they were never strangers, only reflections.

Like all forms are reflections of a thought in the Mind… look again, with Light, with holiness… and, like the child, begin to laugh, and all monsters turn back into play!

Is a pebble less worthy than a diamond? 🪨…💍

Both are stones.

It’s only the mind that says, “This one matters more.”

And that’s how illusions begin… by giving weight and value to what never had any.

Holiness, however, sees no difference.

It sees the same Light shining through every form.

So today, expect joy. Invite only joy.

And if a dark thought appears, don’t push it away or fight with it.

Just look at it gently and say: “This seems dark, but it’s only a thought, I give it no special (pebble..diamond) meaning.”

In that moment of honest seeing, the thought loses its weight, and Love shines through it.

Your holiness knows how to turn even that shadow into light.

This reflection fits beautifully with the lesson of today:

“My Holiness shines bright and clear today.” (Lesson 285)

For holiness is not something we earn,

it is what remains when we stop believing the snake is real.

It’s the quiet radiance beneath all noise, the soft light behind every form,

patiently waiting for us to turn on the light and laugh again.

With love and light,

G.
