Seeing the One Problem Clearly

Life often feels like an endless sequence of problems. One moment, you’re dealing with financial uncertainty; the next, a health issue arises, followed by a global crisis, political turmoil, or personal loss. Problems seem to come in all shapes and sizes, some minor and others deeply life-altering. It can feel overwhelming, as if the world is constantly throwing new challenges your way.

But what if despite their many appearances, all problems are actually the same? What if, no matter how different they seem, they all stem from a single root?

We tend to categorize problems based on their form. Losing a job seems different from facing an illness. Relationship conflicts seem unrelated to economic instability. Yet, at their core, all problems are variations of the same fundamental issue: THE BELIEF IN SEPARATION.

Separation from what? From God ! Every problem we experience can be traced back to this one false belief.

This belief creates fear, and fear projects itself onto the world, making it appear as if problems exist everywhere, in countless forms. But if the underlying cause is always the same, then the solution must also be the same.

This is where today’s lesson from A Course in Miracles offers its most profound insight: The one problem…the belief in separation…has already been solved. Yet, because we do not recognize the real problem, we fail to see the solution that has already been given.

It’s like someone giving you the key to a locked door, but instead of using it, you keep trying to break down the walls. The door is already open. But as long as you think the problem is something else, something outside yourself, you will keep searching for answers in the wrong place.

Recognizing that there is only one problem is the first step toward peace. It simplifies everything. Instead of being caught up in the endless cycle of solving external issues, you shift your focus inward to the real cause.

When we believe in the illusion of many problems, life feels heavy and complicated. There’s always something to fix, control, or fear. But when we see the truth—that there is only one problem, and it has already been resolved—the weight begins to lift.

This does not mean we ignore difficulties or pretend suffering doesn’t exist. It means we no longer mistake the symptoms for the cause. When we address the real issue, peace replaces confusion, and certainty replaces fear.

So remember: every problem is simply another opportunity to remember the truth: You are not separate, you are not alone, and you have never lost what truly matters.

And with that understanding, problems no longer control you. They become what they were all along—nothing but shadows of an old belief that no longer holds any power over you.

With love and light,

G.
