Tess, a friend on Facebook, wrote something simple yet profound:
“The happiest people are they who are rich inside.”
And she’s right.
But what does that mean…rich inside?
Chocolate cake after midnight?
A brain full of brilliant ideas?
An inner library of spiritual quotes?
Tempting, but no.
For students of A Course in Miracles, “rich inside” takes on an entirely different meaning.
It’s not about what is inside, but where that “inside” is.
Because…and here comes the twist…in the Course, inside doesn’t mean inside your body. It’s not behind your ribcage or hidden in your brain folds.
It’s not even something physical at all. Inside refers to your Mind…(exactly like Tess wrote).
Not the chatterbox of thoughts that worries about dinner or deadlines,
but the true Mind with capitol ‘M’, the part of you that can choose between fear and love.
The part that remembers God.
You don’t reach that richness by lightening a candle and pretending everything’s fine. You get there by walking straight through your emotional jungle… with your brother.
Yes. That one.
The one who triggers you.
The one who says that thing in that tone that makes your stomach knot.
ACIM is blunt about this: your brother is your mirror.
And not the kind you want to hang in your hallway.
He reflects all your unhealed wounds, your forgotten pain, and your deep, haunting belief that you’re unworthy of Love.
Ouch.
But here’s the miracle:
this very mirror is the way out of the dream.
By facing what your brother reflects, you see the false beliefs you’ve been carrying like invisible backpacks full of rocks.
You thought you were angry at him?
Nope.
You were angry at yourself, for believing you had ever left Heaven.
And when you forgive your brother, you are in fact forgiving yourself for dreaming such nonsense.
Now that is true wealth.
Not bitcoins, not followers, not even spiritual trophies.
But the inner peace that comes from recognizing that nothing real can be threatened and nothing unreal exists.
It’s a walk through the valley of shadows…not to suffer, but to let the Light in.
So, here’s to all of us who said yes to this deep inner cleaning.
Who dared to look at the dirt, not to judge it, but to release it.
Together.
Because in my brother…
my salvation lies.
With love and light,
G.
