An everyday guide to choosing the light, with a smile

Most of us make about 327 decisions before breakfast: toast or muesli, socks or slippers, news or silence, love or… (let’s skip that one).

But the Course simplifies it all:

There’s only one decision that truly matters: Heaven or hell.

What is Heaven ? What is hell?

Heaven is not somewhere else. It’s the awareness of peace. A quiet remembering that love is all there is, and we never left Home.

Hell, on the other hand, is not a fiery place beneath your floorboards. It’s simply the choice to believe in separation, guilt, conflict,

And here is what today’s lesson is about.

We have one choice that undoes all others: “Choose Heaven and all other decisions dissolve.”

A little story:

You’re standing in a giant supermarket with thousands of shelves.

Some say “Success,” others say “Failure.”

Some promise “Love,” others whisper “Abandonment.”

You’ve got carts filled with “I should,” “I must,” and “I’m not enough.”

It’s overwhelming.

Then a gentle Hand taps your shoulder and points behind you.

There’s a small golden door. No neon signs. No price tags.

Just one word written on it: Heaven.

“Would you like to leave the store?” the Voice asks.

And for a moment… everything becomes still.

You drop the cart…..You drop the questions…..You walk out…..Into the light….

Into what was always there, waiting.

That’s it.

Why Is this so hard? Because we think we’re giving up something.

We’re trained to believe that Heaven must be earned through sacrifice, or chosen instead of pleasure, or joy, or… fun.

But the truth?

Heaven is joy. Heaven is pleasure. Heaven is love.

What we’re leaving behind is only fear, dressed up in glitter and guilt.

In the Course’s words: “The truth is true, and nothing else is true.”

No opposite. No bargain. And no fear of losing anything real. You won’t be punished for not choosing it. You’ll just feel confused. Until you’re done feeling confused.

And then, one quiet morning, you’ll say:

“I’m ready.”

And you’ll choose Heaven. Again.

Not with fireworks.

But with relief.

With a smile.

With peace.

Today, every hour, just pause for a moment and say:

“Heaven is the decision I must make. I choose it now.”

Feel how everything unnecessary melts away.

No striving. No proving. No second-guessing.

And tonight, as you lay your head on the pillow, say it again:

“I chose Heaven today, and I choose it again now.”

No drama. No regrets. Just trust.

If Heaven is peace, and peace is your natural state, then Heaven is not a destination.

It’s your decision to come Home right here. Right now.

And that’s the best kind of decision:

The one you were always meant to make.

With love and light,

G.
