A World Without Borders: No Passport Required

Imagine waking up one day to find that all borders have disappeared. No customs, no visa stress, no grumpy officers staring at your passport photo as if you’re a wanted criminal. No, from today, the world is free. Everyone can go wherever they like.

Sounds like a utopia? Maybe. Sounds like a nightmare for governments? Absolutely. But let’s take a playful look at it.

Travel Without Restrictions

You arrive at the airport, and instead of a line of anxious people clutching their passports, you see a giant sign:

✈️ “Welcome to Planet Earth. Destination? Everywhere.”

You board a plane without a passport check because no one asks, “Where are you from?” The only question that matters is: “Are you happy?”

No border queues. No tedious forms. No “Sir, you filled out the wrong entry documents.” Just freedom.

In this new world without borders, customs officers have nothing left to do. The experts in looking serious and randomly opening suitcases have now found new callings. Some have become yoga instructors. Others are rediscovering their passion for baking pizza.

And passports? They’ve been placed in museums, alongside medieval artifacts. A child looks at one and asks:

🧒 “Dad, what is that?”

👨‍🦳 “Oh, son, that was a piece of paper people used to prove where they were from.”

🧒 “But why? Doesn’t everyone just live on Earth?”

👨‍🦳 “Well… back then, they didn’t think like that.”

In a world without borders, no one would identify as belonging to a country, a passport, or a flag. Because if you can be at home anywhere, where do you really belong?

Instead of saying “I am Dutch” or “I am Mexican,” people would simply say:

“I am an Earthling.”

Or even better, some dreamers might go further:

“I am a being of light and love, traveling through the universe.”

And suddenly, the question “Where are you from?” becomes as meaningless as asking a fish whether it’s from the Atlantic or the Pacific.

Countries Without Borders …critics will say, “But if everyone can go anywhere, it will be chaos!”

Maybe… or maybe not. Imagine if people no longer moved out of necessity (war, poverty) but purely out of curiosity and love. Cities would turn into open meeting places, where cultures mix like a beautiful painting.

No fear of “the other” because there is no other. Only us.

And imagine living in Paris today, Kyoto next month, and Rio de Janeiro next year—just because you can. You stay with friends, share stories, and help each other. No borders mean no enemies, only new neighbors.

The Real Border: The Ego

In A Course in Miracles, we learn that the only real border is the one in our minds. The ego loves separation: “This is mine, that is yours. You don’t belong here. I am different from you.”

But once we let that go, we discover something amazing:

Borders are an illusion. Love requires no passport.

And let’s be honest—has anyone ever seen a real border? A physical one? When you fly over the Alps, do you see thick black lines marking “Austria” on one side and “Italy” on the other?

Birds fly without visas.

The wind blows without a passport.

And love? Love travels freely, no stamps needed.

Welcome to a World Without Borders

Maybe it’s time to let go of the borders in our minds. To look beyond labels and nationalities. To see the world as it truly is: open, free, and shared by all.

So if you’re traveling soon, forget your passport. Bring something much more important instead:

✨ An open heart. ✨

Welcome to Planet Earth. Here, you are home everywhere.

With love and light,

G.
