I rule my mind, which I alone must rule. (ACIM W.236)

Before we step into the royal halls of our inner kingdom….what means the Course with “mind” ?

Is it our brain ? Nope, even though our brain is a beautifully squishy computer that runs the body. It manages digestion, blinking, Spotify playlists, and the impulse to check our phone just one more time.

So that’s not the mind the Course is talking about.

It is something much greater……..!

It’s the space before thought.

It’s the place where thought arises.

It’s your awareness, your chooser, your decision-maker.

It’s the part of you that can step back and say:

“Oh wow, I’m thinking this…but I don’t have to believe it.”

It’s the You (capital Y) that’s still connected to God, even when you forget.

The You that never left Heaven, even when it dreams of wandering.

This Mind isn’t in your head.

It’s not located behind your eyes.

It’s not physical….it’s fundamental.

It’s the origin point of your experience, the place where you say yes to the ego, or yes to the Holy Spirit.

The place where peace either gets invited in… or politely asked to wait outside (again).

Lesson 236 says: I have a kingdom I must rule. This isn’t about land or politics. It’s about your inner realm…the space of awareness where every thought is invited or declined. In other words:

You rule it…..Not your past. Not your family. Not the world.

Just you.

Still, it often feels like the mind rules us.

Ever tried meditating and ended up planning dinner, reliving high school drama, or mentally correcting someone on Facebook?

Welcome to the ego’s kingdom: loud, persistent, and slightly ridiculous.

But today’s lesson doesn’t scold.

It reminds us:

The throne is yours. Still warm.

The mind doesn’t lead…it serves.

If we invite the ego, it’ll serve up fear.

If we invite the Holy Spirit, it brings peace and maybe even a smile.

We don’t need to fix every thought. Just choose our guest of honor.

Not fighting thoughts…

But blessing them.

Not forcing control…

But remembering freedom.

Rule your mind today with presence, not pressure.

With willingness, not worry.

Because this quiet Kingdom has waited long enough.
