The teachings of A Course in Miracles aren’t locked away in books or classrooms. They are alive, breathing in every corner of daily life, if we are willing to see them.
Take, for example, a windmill standing proudly in the heart of Schiedam.
What could it possibly be telling me about Love, forgiveness, and trust?
Take a closs look and see the old stones, the strong blades slicing through the bright sky, and the endless, patient turning, they tell a quiet story.
A story that beautifully mirrors the heart of A Course in Miracles.
The windmill uses the power of the wind, a force it neither controls nor creates, but trusts completely.
Similarly, the Course reminds us: God’s Love is always present.
We don’t need to invent it.
We only need to open to it, just as the windmill lifts its arms to the invisible breeze.
The windmill does not resist the wind. It doesn’t demand that the wind change direction. It turns, gracefully and willingly.
Likewise, the Course invites us to stop resisting life, and instead to remember:
“I need do nothing”
The windmill does not grind for itself. It turns, not to glorify itself, but to serve, to turn grain into nourishment, so that life may continue.
In the same way, when we accept our true function of forgiveness, we naturally give.
And in giving, we find that we ourselves have been receiving.
And when the wind falls still?
The windmill stands quietly, without fear or impatience. It knows the wind will return.
Similarly, when life feels slow or stagnant, the Course reminds us it is not a punishment, but an invitation to deepen our trust:
“I am at peace.”
“There is nothing to fear.”
Maybe a windmill isn’t just an old machine standing in the sun.
Maybe it is a silent, wise companion, softly whispering:
“Be gentle. Let yourself be carried. And turn always with the Love that never leaves you.”
With love and light,
G.
