We all find ourselves in a maze. Or at least, that’s how it seems.
A labyrinth of choices, walls, turns, dead ends, backtracking, tunnels, crossroads, and repetitions.
What is true? Where should I go? Who should I be? What if I make the wrong turn? What if I get lost?
Welcome to the ego maze. No wonder we get tired of searching.
A Course in Miracles says it clearly:
“The world you see is an illusion of a world. God did not create it.”
In other words: the maze only exists because you believe you need to get through it.
The ego whispers: “There’s a way out, but you have to look harder.”
“Maybe you still have to fix this first…”
“You’re almost there…oh wait, wrong turn. Go back.”
And you? You keep searching.
Sometimes with a map, sometimes with a guide (guru) sometimes with frustration, sometimes with hope.
But always moving within the maze.
Until one day… you stop.
Not to check the map, but because you suddenly wonder:
“What if this maze isn’t real?”
What if the exit isn’t a door, but an insight?
The Course tells us:
“Do not attempt to understand the ego. That is precisely what the ego wants.”
And also:
“Truth needs no defense and no understanding. It merely needs to be experienced.”
That’s the key.
There is no exit from a dream. Only awakening.
The ego wants you to keep looking.
Love only asks you to be.
So let the walls be. Let go of the map. Let the search fall away. And look around, with inner vision.
You’re already in the Light. You just dreamed the maze.
Maybe the only real way out… is to laugh.
Laugh at the ego who wanted so badly to be a riddle.
Laugh at yourself for thinking you were lost.
And then, softly, you hear:
“I will lead you, for I know the way you have forgotten.”
That’s the Holy Spirit. Not a guide with a compass, but a reminder of who you really are.
Not a body in a maze, but a Child of God in a dream.
So… do you want to get out?
Or do you want to wake up?
With love and light,
G.
